Sleeping, eating…. space between decks
Sleeping, eating, and even dancing took place with everyone together in the same cramped space between decks. Single men and women were separated by three areas – single men and single women’s quarters at opposite ends of the ship. Married couples could have a between decks cabin built by paying extra for each adult and for each child over the age of one.
